Hawaii One Just got married and im moving to hawaii for one month only. My husband is a marine?
and he will be working, meanwhile this is my first time going and i was wondering people in my similar position or just anybody, what do you do to entertain yourself in hawaii? I dont know anybody and i dont want to be stuck in the house all day by myself. I thought about getting a job, joining a class or something but i dont know where to begin from or where to look. Any suggestions?
I am living with my husband in HI on Oahu and like it here a lot. I would take full advantage of this opportunity you are given. There are many beaches to go to, hikes to hike and cultures to experience. I would suggest doing the Manoa Falls hike and definitely Diamond Head. Learn how to surf or take advantage of the water and surf here. The snorkeling is awesome especially at Hanauma Bay. Think of this as a vacation and see all you can here. The nightlife is pretty good in Waikiki and I would suggest living there since you will only be there for a month. I lived in Waikiki for 6 months and it got to be too much with all the tourists and traffic but for one month it's perfect. Waikiki is walking distance to everything you need and you won't have to rent a car the whole time except for exploring or going other places. I would try and get a job for a month to make some friends to chill with while you are here. Enjoy and relax!

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Hawaii Calls was a radio program that ran from 1935 through 1975 that featured live Hawaiian music. It was broadcast each week, usually from the courtyard of the Moana Hotel on Waikiki Beach but occasionally from other locations, and hosted by Webley Edwards for almost the entire run. The first show reached the West Coast of the continental United States through shortwave radio. At its height, it was heard on over 750 stations around the world. However, when it went off the air in 1975, only 10 stations were airing the show. Because of its positive portrayal of Hawaii, the show received a subsidy for many yearsfirst from the government of the Territory of Hawaii, and then from the State of Hawaii. The termination of the subsidy was one of the reasons that the show went off the air. Hawaii Calls is credited with making many Hawaiian performers household names across the US and around the world. Among the regulars of Hawaii Calls were Alfred Apaka, Haunani Kahalewai, Nina Kealiiwahamana, Boyce Rodrigues, Lani Custino, and Pua Almeida. When the intrepid Isabella Bird landed in Hawaii in 1873, she discovered the islanders rode everywhere and the clergymans daughter soon joined them. Having never ridden astride because of the English cultural taboo, Isabella was reluctant to cast aside her native equestrian traditions. When she did, the greatest female equestrian traveller of the Victorian age came to life. This classic account of thrilling equestrian adventure tells the story of one womans discovery of both her own soul and the wide world beyond. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Puna is one of the 6 districts on the Island of Hawaii (Big Island) (County of Hawaii). It is located on the windward side (east side) of the island and shares borders with South Hilo district in the north and Ka district in the west. With its size of almost 320,000 acres (1,300 km2), Puna is almost as big as the island of Oahu. The affordable housing prices have led to an enormous increase in developments in Puna, and have made this district the fastest growing area on the Big Island. In the last 20 years the population has grown by nearly 20,000 people and it is estimated that Puna will have a higher population than Hilo by 2020. However, between 2002 and 2006 the price of houses more than doubled and the price of vacant land increased over fivefold, as increasing numbers of people from outside the district (often from the mainland U.S.) bought into the last affordable market in the state. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Pahoa is a censusdesignated place (CDP) in the Puna District, Hawaii County, Hawaii, United States. The population was 962 at the 2000 census.Soils underlying the Pahoa area are volcanic in origin, deriving from the still active Kilauea Volcano. (Earth Metrics Inc., 1986) Kilauea is one of the Earths most active volcanos, with the January, 2006 eruption being the longest rift zone eruption in Kilaueas 200 year recorded history. (Volcanology, 2007) The volcanic soils underlying Pahoa are considered to have been generated by lava flows within the last 125 to 500 years. For example, the eruption of 1840 is known to have deposited lava flow within 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of Pahoa. During the 1986 Earth Metrics survey an active lateral vent of Kilauea is located within three miles (5 km) of the village western perimeter. How much is a 1935 Hawaii one dollar bill worth?
I have a 1935 one dollar bill with "Hawaii" stamped on it aswell as the usually green seal and serial number being brown. It is a series 1935A bill and is very different form modern bills. It is in fairly good condition but has a brown stain on the back. I was wondering how much this is worth about.
Maybe as much as a Japanese Peso. Interesting items left over from WWII, probably hold more intrinsic value to you then any real monetary value.
