Large Wedge Skimboard
What type of skimboard is meant for riding waves?
I have a decent board but its meant more for tricks than riding waves because it's too light/not bouyant enough to make it over large stretches of deep water like heavier boards. i think the kind i want is a wedge, but im not sure.
You've got it backwards. The heavy board would only be good to use up in the sand. You need the very light foam board in order to make it out to ride the waves. Your problem is either that you're not picking and timing the right waves, or your board is simply too small for you and can't float you all the way out to a wave. Check out the lesson links below and it will give you the basics to picking the right wave so that you can start riding out in the waves and doing some of the tricks too.
