Longboard Surfboard What is the best length longboard surfboard for..?
a 14 year old teen who is amazing at longboarding, is it around 9ft-9 8ft
, cause i am getting a longboard which is 11 8ft and thats pretty dam big, should i get a smaller one???
I just put my Son-in-laws 10 foot board on the back porch after unloading our cars for a surfing vacation. I didn't bring my longboard this week, but I ride a 9'4". 11'8' sounds like an SUP to me. Where are you getting it? and, Why? that sounds like way too much board for conventional longboarding to me. I just finished last months "Longboard" magazine, and the only 11 footers I saw featured were SUP boards. I started surfing in 1966, when we only had longboards, and I don't remember anybody riding anything that big, except I had a buddy with an old hollow core wooden board. Go to a good surf shop and look at the longboard section, and talk to the folks there about what they recommend.

I own a few Sector 9 long boards and love them. If you want a board you are just going to be cruising on, I would suggest the Sector 9 Waimea. It's a great board for getting around town. It's around 38" long, so it makes it a little easier to manuever than some of the lomger boards. Hope this helps you.
