Pad Turf
Should I wear additional equipment when playing keeper on a Turf field?
Do I need the extra padding? Or not? I play at a high level of soccer on a premier team but have just never played in a stadium before. Regularly I do not wear anything additional other than a padded jersey.
As I am not in the US - when you say turf are you referring to natural grass or artificial turf. Anyway - it all depends - I generally wear padded keeper pants that come to the knee to protect my thighs from grazing. That depends on where you are playing. I played most of my soccer in Australia and often the grounds - due to the high temperatures, lack of rain for periods - are rock hard - so I spend my entire season with grazes but the padding reduces that. If it is lush grass though - I wouldn't be too concerned - but as I always kitted out that way, I just wear it out of habit.
Also I play a lot of indoor on a synthetic ground and still use the same pants - though I am recently thinking about some sort of bracing for my hands as I have dislocated 3 fingers in the last season in indoor - just through the close proximity of attackers, and playing Div 1 means they know how to smash it at you from 5 yrds out.

how can i improve my 40 yard dash time?
im a 14 year old male about 6 feet going to try out for wide receiver my 40 on track is about a 5.3 on turf with cleats 5.6 and on turf with full football pads on about a 6.36 i start off in a wide receiver stance and always lean in when im getting close to the finish line i want to cut about 1/2 a second off my 40. Am i supposed to to get my back straight early in the dash or later any tips or excercises or videos will help
