Skimboard Carbon
Which is better: Fiberglass, or wooden skimboard?
I am wondering, because today I'm going to get a new skimboard. Should I get fiberglass or wood? And Why? Don't say carbon, or anything else, just fiberglass or wooden. That's it. Because fiberglass is the most we afford. Be sure to thouoraghly ( don't know how to spell it but thur-o-ly) explain which is better. Remember FIBERGLASS OR WOODEN.
To be honest they both have characteristics that are favorable. Also, remember the shape, as in the leading edge and trailing edge will make as much a difference as the materials will. Fiberglass skim boards are nice, slightly more durable, and have a tendency to glide smoother and are faster into wake.
I however prefer to do things the more natural way, and how skim boarding used to be done, so I prefer wooden skim boards. they aren't as fast, but I like the slightly more gripping ride as opposed to the ultra slick fiberglass boards. Also, I find that fiberglass skim boards don't do well with crashes or rocks. All in all, pro skimboarders use both wooden and fiberglass and many other material types. If you are looking to learn, go wooden. If you are trying to impress people with a more custom looking board, then go fiberglass. If you aren't looking to go broke..then go wooden

Help me please! I'm planning to get a skimboard?
Which is a better SKIMBOARD: Fiberglass, or a wooden skimboard?

i was gonna say carbon, but a zap fiberglass is less expensive and just as good.............
