My husband and I hardly disagree but need your opinion?
I have 4 year old triplets, I bike ride, my husband will not allow the kids to be on any type of kid carrier on the bike, or any pull along with the bike....he feels it is too dangerous....but then, he is a surfer...he sees nothing wrong with taking our 4 year olds out on a surfboard with him in the ocean....I say compromise no to both...what are your opinions?
I surf like your husband, I skateboard, I ride bikes and motorcycles as well. In all my years I have probably surfed 5x as much as any of the other activities. I have been injured 5x as much riding bikes in that short time than surfing. My only concern for the other activities is you have more people involved driving multi ton beasts who shouldn't be on the road in the first place driving like maniacs with no regard for pedestrians and bikes on the road. This is where I can see your husband is concerned. He is comfortable taking them into the waves because he feels more confident in this environment and feels more in control of the variables and risks associated with surfing. I think riding is more dangerous but shouldn't be excluded because it is healthy, fun and tons of other reasons. Definitely try and work something out even if it means driving to a more controlled area or bike path to do so.
