Lol, you can't improve on his tank conditions
The questions and answers I've seen from you in the last week, you're meticulous on tank conditions for your goldfish (and I mean that in the best way possible)
A 40g cycled, filtered for one oranda will ensure he lives a very long and healthy life
Clearly you know the importance of water quality and feeding habits (and not overfeeding)
Goldfish love to snack on live plants, so at some point you'll no doubt be dealing with that
If you want to keep vegetable matter in his diet (which is good for him) you can give him an occasional light snack of cooked shelled peas (the frozen kind) or some steamed/cooked broccoli or spinach if you want
It's personal preference as to whether you use a heater. I've found my fancies do really well right around 72-74 so I never use one in my tanks. Their temp stays pretty consistent unless we're going through the dog days of summer, and if it starts climbing above 78 I'll lower it very slowly through small partial water changes. But that's just my personal preference and it's rare I have to do that.
Quite honestly I wouldn't change a thing. You're doing it right and most new goldfish owners would do very well to learn from your example
Keep up the good work, you have some pretty lucky fish
